Al Azhari Takes Eurocup-3 Victory at Silverstone
For the second time this season, Al Azhari takes a victory for the first Eurocup-3 race at Silverstone.
Keanu Al Azhari went fastest in qualifying around the home of British Motorsport getting pole position for the first race, starting alongside the Emirati driver on the front row is MP Motorsport’s Ean Eyckmans.
The lights went out and a great start from Al Azhari who started to build the gap between himself and Lammers. Eyckmans lost two places on the start which allowed Egozi to gain a position. Off on the grass went Kolovos triggering a safety car to be deployed, neutralising the grid.
A great restart from Keanu Al Azhari as slightly further down the grid we saw the battle for fifth between Pradel and Heuzenroeder with Pradel keeping position. Eyckmans applied pressure to James Egozi in the fight for third.
On the penultimate lap of the race, yellow flags were waved down by Turn 7 for Heuzenroeder who went off by Stowe Corner.
Taking the win was Keanu Al Azhari with a gap of 5.6s to Rene Lammers who took second, rounding off the podium was championship leader - Palou Motorsport’s James Egozi.
