The famous North London Derby, one of the strongest rivalries in English football, Tottenham versus Arsenal. As usual, this game was filled with non-stop action and some tense moments between both players and fans. After a recent rough patch for Arsenal, are they finally coming back? Or was this merely a single good performance in a list of mediocre ones?

Straight from kick-off, Arsenal played with the upper hand, holding possession and getting opportunity after opportunity, notably William Saliba’s incredibly close shot which just went right of the goal. Just before the 30-minute mark, Jurrien Timber landed himself a yellow card, meaning he had to watch himself to avoid receiving a second offence and risking a red card.

A whopping shot from 20 metres out saw Eberchi Eze score the game’s first goal for Arsenal, bringing the score to 1-0 and giving his team the boost of motivation and hope they’ve been lacking over their past few games.

Just two minutes later, Tottenham retaliated with a goal from Randal Kolo Muani, evening the scoreline with 9 minutes remaining in the first half.

As tensions rise between the teams, Archie Gray is booked with a yellow card for unsporting behaviour, also putting him at risk of a potential red card.

Both teams went into half-time with a goal each, and palpable hunger for more.

Just two minutes into the second half, Swedish striker Viktor Gyökeres sent the ball into the corner of the net, bringing Arsenal to 2-1. Game-play continued with plays from both sides, however Arsenal managed to hold possession and their lead.

57 minutes in, Mikel Arteta decided to get fresh legs on the pitch for the Arsenal side and substituted Cristian Mosquera on for Jurrien Timber.

Four minutes later, the first goal scorer, Eberchi Eze scored his second goal of the game, the third for Arsenal. Tension in the stadium began to rise as Tottenham's home fans grew frustrated with the game and Arsenal's fans grew more and more hopeful at the chance to get a win and extend the lead at the top of the league table.

A substitution for Tottenham saw Solanke come on in place of Connor Gallagher, and just 5 minutes later, another substitution saw Richarlison on for Tottenham's goal scorer, Randall Kolo Muani.

A double substitution for Arsenal saw Gabriel Martinelli come on for Leandro Trossard, and Ødegaard on for Eza, giving the team some new energy and giving them a good go to keep their 3-1 lead.

90 minutes of regular play ended with a 3-1 scoreline, but with 8 minutes of injury time, anything could happen.

Another Arsenal substitution brought Noni Madueke on in place of Bukayo Saka, to assist the front line in scoring a final goal. The opportunity arose just 3 minutes later with Viktor Gyökeres’ second goal of the game, bringing the full-time score to 4-1 for Arsenal, ironically the same scoreline as their last meeting in November of 2025.

This game looked good for Arsenal fans who had been worried about recent results, and the potential of losing their number one spot in the league, however, Tottenham fans were upset with the home loss, as the rivalry between the teams fires on.
