BREAKING: Doriane Pin Wins F1 Academy World Championship

21-year-old French F1 academy driver, Doriane Pin, wins the Formula 1 Academy World Championship for the 2025 season, becoming the third driver in history to do so.

Doriane Pin has won the F1 Academy Championship this weekend at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. The Mercedes-backed driver fought all season, facing a mix of bad luck and the most pole positions from all drivers to come to this achievement.

After an exciting season with plenty of competition from drivers like Chloe Chambers and Maya Weug, Doriane managed to secure the championship. In the last race of the season for F1 Academy, she came first in the Sprint race and 5th in the Feature Race, securing the points she needed to call the trophy hers for this year. 

The championship looked tightly secured after Saturday’s Sprint Race when Pin’s championship rival, Weug, crashed out of the race very early on. This meant that she was unable to take home any points and made her chances of winning the title much smaller. For Pin, it meant that she would win the championship under most circumstances come Sunday.

Pin’s team, Prema, also had a successful weekend, taking home the Teams Championship on Saturday night under the Las Vegas lights. This is the second time Prema has won this championship in F1 Academy.

With F1 Academy's regulation only permitting drivers two years in the category, Pin’s racing future for next year is unknown. However, winning the championship does secure Pin support next year in the form of a fully funded seat for the following season, typically in a higher-level series like GB3.
