Megeutounif and Esterson have left Trident’s F2 Team due to financial reasons with 2 F3 drivers rumoured to take their seats.

After a tough campaign with just 2 points on the board, Max Esterson and Sami Megeutounif have parted ways with Trident in the F2 season. This news comes prior to one of the final F2 rounds of 2025 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Esterson sits P21 in the F2 standings, just ahead of AIX Racing's Cian Shields, and Megeutounif sits P19 ahead of VAR's John Bennett on 2 points, both points coming at the feature races in Imola and Austria.
In a statement on X, Trident said the decision was by mutual agreement, adding that "It has been a pleasure to have had them both on our team and we wish them all the best for their future. 💙"
Although no replacements have been announced yet, GPBlog have reported that McLaren junior Martinius Stenshorne and Laurens Van Hoepen will replace the 2 departing drivers at the squad, with financial reasons being the reason behind the decision, Mauizio Salvadori confirmed to the journalist website.
