The British SuperBikes championship took to Oulton Park for the opening round of their season, here is what went down.

Qualifying
Qualifying set the race weekend off to a flying start. Kyle Ryde came in as the fastest with a 1:33.001, to claim a Ducati pole and mark the first pole of the season. Bradley Ray qualified second, only 0.127s behind, to mark Yamaha’s speed. Third place was taken by Leon Hallam, being 0.536s behind Ryde, showing the gap to the top for this round.
Race 1
Race 1 began with a DNF for Hedger after only competing four laps of the race, not the start to the season he would have wanted. Another DNF came, this time for Nesbitt after completing only four laps. The third and final DNF of the race came for McManus after completing nine laps. All three of these are Honda riders, who will be wondering what went wrong.
Ryde came in to claim the win for the first race of the season, impressing Yamaha and showing off his speed. He was then followed by Haslam in second and Ray in third to complete the podium.
Race 2
Race 2 kicked off with a DNF for R.Irwin after completing only two laps. For the second time this weekend, Nesbitt completed four laps before a DNF came his way, he’ll of wanted to correct the issue before race 3. McManus then faced his second DNF of the weekend after completing eleven laps. With the fourth and final DNF following moments later for G.Irwin.

Ryde showed a display of speed to claim his second win of the weekend, massively impressing Yamaha, however this time he said he didn’t expect to have won. Haslam came in to claim another second place with Ray following in third to copy the same top three from race 1.
Race 3
Ryde impressed for the final race of the weekend, making it three for three and taking another win. Haslam took second for the third time, whilst Ray took third for the third time. These three showed their speed this weekend and marked their charge for the title.
Next up for BSB is Donnington Park on the 15th to the 17th of May.
