Starting on pole for Race 1 at Imola for the Eurocup-3 Championship is James Egozi and it is Heitor Dall’Agnol who has locked out Row 1. Imola is seeing track temperatures of above 39℃. The lights go green and what a start for Egozi and it’s yellow flags waved at the back of a grid for a car that couldn’t get started, commentators believing it’s the MP Motorsport of Alceu Feldmann.

Going into the second corner, the Drivex car of Christopher El Feghali goes off into the gravel, triggering the deployment of a safety car. Going back to racing, it’s Egozi leading from Dall’Agnol from Al Azhari. Going wheel to wheel went Harrison and Trappa but contact was made with Harrison spinning off track and Trappa into the barrier, yellow flags being waved for the second time this race, another safety car deployment. Harrison still managed to get back on track to continue the race, the safety car came into the pitlane with 18 minutes to go.

On the restart, both the Palou Motorsport cars get away well and it’s Eyckmans trying to get ahead of Keanu Al Azhari and it’s Al Azhari who goes wide and then Eyckmans also went wide. Al Azhari now fell down the grid with a puncture on his front left tyre. Further down the grid, Rene Lammers who started the race in last made it up to P13.

With 10 minutes to go, it’s still Egozi leading from his teammate by 1.5s while slightly further down the grid Borgna goes wide, rejoining the track in 22nd. Championship leader Egozi started dropping down the order after coming to a halt on the hill, however he managed to get the car started again. Now it’s his Palou Motorsport teammate Heitor Dall’Agnol who will be leading from Ean Eyckmans.

James Egozi attempted to make his way to pitlane but came to a halt again just before the entry. On the restart, Dall’Agnol got away well and it was wheel to wheel between Powell and Heuzenroeder as it was Patrick Heuzenroeder who made his way up into third. On the final lap, it was Powell that got ahead again.

Following post-race penalties it was Ean Eyckmans who took first place, with Alex Powell in second and Heitor Dall’Agnol in third.
