F1 Released New 2027 Calendar
Earlier this week, Formula 1 released their new calendar for the 2027 season, which will consist of 24 races across 22 countries featuring 10 sprint weekends.
Before the season officially starts, pre-season testing will take place at the Bahrain International Circuit from February 24-27 before returning there for the season opener from 12-14 March. Next up is Saudi Arabia and then the calendar will move to Australia, Japan and then China before heading to the first Americas leg of Miami and Canada
The European leg will kick off in the principality of Monaco before Formula 1 returns to Portimão in Portugal for the first time since 2021. With a little shift in the order, Silverstone will follow with Austria after it, with Belgium and Hungary still finishing off the first half of the season before summer break.
The return from summer break will see the Italian Grand Prix in Monza with Madrid returning for its second grand prix. Round 16 will kick off the second triple header of the season in Azerbaijan, followed by the comeback of the Turkish Grand Prix and rounding it off with the physically demanding race of Singapore.
The next part of the season is the second leg of the Americas starting off with another triple header with the United States Grand Prix being held on the 22-24 October followed by the altitudes of Mexico City and then Brazil. The last part of this stint will be held from the lights of Las Vegas before heading into the season finale rounds.
The season finale will be hosted in Qatar from 3-5 December with the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi rounding off the 2027 Formula 1 season.
Unlike this year where we have 6 sprint races, next year there will be 10 with 6 in the first half of the season and 4 in the second half. The first sprint will be held in Round 1 in Bahrain with Australia and Japan following them at the beginning of April. Then at the end of May we have Canada and then we will see the first ever Sprint race be held in the streets of Monaco.The final sprint event before the summer break will be at Silverstone where we saw Kimi Antonelli win this exact race this season. After the summer break, Italy will bring back its sprint race before a 2 month break of sprints up until the Brazilian Grand Prix. Finishing the year off, we have the 2 final sprint weekends in the season finales of Qatar and Abu Dhabi
