Formula E announces 2026/27 calendar

The Formula E World Championship has announced its 2026/27 calendar and brings some changes with it, here is everything you need to know.

This marks the dawn of a new era for Formula E, the GEN 4 era. The new calendar brings with it the most powerful Formula E machine yet and a whole load of new regs aiming to make the cars faster. It also brings a new double-header format, with the first race being a sprint style named “E-prix unleashed’ aiming to showcase outright speed and bring fans more wheel-to-wheel action. 

This is the championships biggest calendar yet with 21 races spanning across 13 different cities. Multiple iconic tracks remain such as Tokyo and Jeddah. There are 3 new exciting tracks, Circuit of the Americas, Circuit Zandvoort and Brands Hatch. 

With the series now heading to Circuit of the Americas, the championship is increasing its presence with the USA. It continues with racing at Miami, a race that has quickly become a fan favourite due to the action it brings along with its atmosphere. The new track will help increase Formula E’s market in the USA and help with the growth of the championship.

Brands Hatch is replacing another fan favourite, the London Excel centre. The circuit has a rich history in motorsport, previously hosting Formula 1 and Indycar. It has a reputation for bringing exciting racing and connecting fans with the sport. It brings with it a new identity for the sport in the UK and with that it brings in a new audience. 

A main talking point of this new calendar is the beginning of the championship’s move away from street-style circuits. In the past a key identity of Formula E was that it only raced around street circuits and went places Formula 1 didn’t, such as Tokyo. It has built a reputation from this and moving away from these circuits could reduce its unique identity. However will it improve the racing?
