Formula E’s Miami Rookie Free Practice Preview

At this year's Miami E-Prix, we will witness a rookie free practice to start our weekend. But which drivers are taking part this time?

Here is a little introduction into each driver taking part:
Andretti Formula E
Dennis Hauger - Hauger is a 22-year-old Norwegian racing driver who is competing in IndyCar with Dale Coyne Racing through a technical partnership with Andretti Global. Hauger has a decorated junior career, winning the Indy NXT championship in 2025 and the FIA Formula 3 title in 2021. He was previously a member of the Red Bull junior team and has previously been highlighted as someone to watch.
Théo Pourchaire - Pourchaire is a 22-year-old French racing driver who currently competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship with Peugeot. He made his debut in this series in 2025 after competing in the European Le Mans Series and securing the Formula 2 championship in 2023. He’s had a rich career so far, getting to compete in Formula series, Endurance, and IndyCar series.
Cupra Kiro
Josep Maria "Pepe" Martí - Martí is a 20-year-old Spanish racing driver who competes in FIA Formula E with Cupra Kiro. After competing in Formula 2 for two years, Martí made the switch to Formula E, giving him a chance to showcase his talent in a top professional racing series. He is also part of the Red Bull junior team, helping him develop and gain experience under a strong championship-winning team. Being in his first year of Formula E allows Cupra Kiro to field him for an extra session across the Miami weekend, giving him extra track time to prepare for the race.
DS Penske
Nikita Bedrin - Bedrin is a 20-year-old Russian-Italian racing driver who will be competing in the GB3 championship with VRD Racing in 2026, after competing in Formula 3 for AIX Racing in 2025. He has been a development driver for the team since the 2024/25 season, where he got to test the car back at the Berlin tests in July 2025.
Envision Racing
Zak O’Sullivan - O’Sullivan is a 20-year-old British racing driver who competed in the Super GT - GT300 championship in 2025. In his junior career, he won the GB3 championship with Carlin in 2021. He then moved into Formula 3 with them, which eventually led to him making the jump to Formula 2 in 2024, where he claimed two wins.
Jaguar TCS Racing
Alessandro Giusti - Giusti is a 19-year-old French racing driver who made his Formula 3 debut in 2025, in which he managed to claim two podiums. He is also a Williams Racing-backed driver, who has been supporting his career since January 2024. He first tested a Formula E car at the Berlin rookie test in July 2025 with Lola Yamaha AB.
Lola Yamaha ABT Formula E Team
Hugh Barter - Barter is a 20-year-old Australian-Japanese racing driver. Previously, he raced in Formula 3 with Campos Racing in 2023. In 2022, he took 2nd place in both the French F4 championship and the Spanish F4 championship.
Mahindra Racing
Chloe Chambers - Chambers is a 21-year-old American racing driver who has previously competed in the F1 Academy championship. In 2024 and 2025, she raced for Campos Racing within F1 Academy, having been backed by Haas and Red Bull-Ford in her two seasons where she achieved three wins, eleven podiums, and an overall 3rd place finish in 2025. She has previously completed testing for Mahindra Racing at the start of the season Formula E test day.
Nissan Formula E Team
Abbi Pulling - Pulling is a 22-year-old British racing driver who competed in the GB3 championship in 2025 for Rodin Motorsport and will continue with this in 2026. In 2024, she won the F1 Academy championship, backed by Alpine, taking nine wins, and at the same time competing in British F4 where she took one win. After her first Formula E test in October 2024, she has continued to work closely with Nissan.
Gabriele Minì - Minì is a 20-year-old Italian racing driver who currently competes in the Formula 2 championship. He has been backed by the Alpine Academy since 2023, and they have been supporting his racing development throughout Formula 3, where he finished runner-up and Formula 2.
Porsche Formula E Team
Ayhancan Güven - Güven is a 28-year-old Turkish racing driver who currently races Porsche sports cars. Most recently, he competed in the 2026 Daytona 24, where he finished P5. Currently, he has no single-seater experience, putting him apart from the rest of the grid, however this means it is a new opportunity for him that will allow him a chance to develop.
Overall, the rookie Formula E practice is providing chances to a diverse group of drivers and is something to watch out for.
