On the 24th and 25th of March, pre-season testing for the GB3 Championship took place at Silverstone, providing valuable insights to teams about drivers performance ahead of the first race of the season.

Day 1
The first day of testing saw Deagan Fairclough topping the timesheet, with his fastest time in the second session - a 1:49.198 which is almost 3.6s quicker than the official lap record for the GB3 Championship at Silverstone. The remaining top five spots were filled by Maxim Rehm, Nikita Bedrin, Martin Molnár and Kyuho Lee. Furthermore, with small margins, the battle for top spots during the season could be close, especially towards the front of the pack.
When asked how he felt about his result during this day of testing by his team Hitech, in an Instagram reel, Fairclough responded - “The new upgrades to the GB3 car has made it more of an experience and the more downforce for high-speed corners is just such a fantastic feeling.”
Each driver in the top 10 of the standings after the first day of pre-season testing at Silverstone achieved their fastest times during the second session and the majority of the drivers throughout this day of testing completed 12-16 laps on average per session except in the third session which was interrupted due to wet weather. Overall, based on the first day of testing, Rodin Motorsport and Hitech seem to be the teams performing the best and potentially the ones to look out for this season.
Day 2
The second day of testing told a similar story with Deagan Fairclough being quickest out of the 24 drivers in the combined classifications with a time of 1:49.749. The rest of the top five were as follows - Maxim Rehm, Martin Molnár, Flynn Jackes and Nikita Bedrin. By looking at the combined classification, the top 8 drivers were only separated by 0.560s and the top three by less than two-tenths of a second.
All twenty-four drivers recorded their best time in the second session of the day as rain and snow affected the first and third sessions. Each driver on average completed 10-13 laps during each session. During this session the top performing team in terms of consistency seems to be Rodin Motorsport as all three of their drivers made it into the top ten in the combined classification.
Overall GB3 pre-season testing at Silverstone showed strong performance, especially from Fairclough, Rehm and Molnar. It also featured twenty-four drivers as opposed to the seventeen drivers who took part during testing at Donington Park. This includes Daniel Guinchard who made an appearance with Nitrous Competitions ADM Racing. Elite Motorsport had continued a pre-season testing programme with Spanish-British driver Edu Robinson.
With the next official pre-season tests for the GB3 Championship continuing at Brands Hatch on 9th April, which driver will top the timesheet?
