Starting on pole for GB4 Race 1 at Donington Park was rookie Yani Stevenheydens who lined up on the front row alongside Fred Green. Before the start, yellow flags were waved for a car on the grass by the start/finish straight which was Faris Organji.

Lights went green and Stevenheydens lost two places as Green and O’Grady got ahead. Wheel to wheel went Enzo Hallman and Stevenheydens as there was a big lock-up for the Belgian driver. Coulthard made his way up into fourth position.

Bryne went slightly wide allowing his teammate McLean to move up a place. Hallman managed to get ahead of Coulthard once more. Off at the Fogarty Esses went Solenn Amrouche. The safety car was deployed, neutralising the grid. A perfect restart for Fred Green with eight tenths of a second separating him and O’Grady.

The Fortec Motorsports of Cegielski was handed a time penalty for exceeding track limits; more drivers may be penalised post-race.

Green crossed the line victorious with O’Grady in second and Stevenheydens finishing in third on debut.
