GT WC EU Takes On France

From the 31st of July to the 2nd of August, GT World Challenge Europe is heading to Magny-Cours for the sixth round of the season.
The grid heads into the second half of the sprint cup campaign following the thrilling round at Misano, and the title fighting is heating up. Magny-Cours marks the run towards the end of the sprint cup and overall season. An impressive weekend here is crucial to these teams and drivers, at a time where every point counts even more. Both the team and drivers standings are all to play for.
This weekend consists of 45 GT3 cars to line the grid across four different classes. There will be two 60-minute sprint races, giving fans two chances to enjoy the action. However it also means the drivers need to perform the best they can twice over, doubling the pressure. Less pit stops, less changes, shorter stints, but less chances to improve up the grid.
Team WRT will arrive with momentum after their perfect weekend in Misano. Last time out, Charles Weers and Kelvin van der Linde, claimed top of the podium in both Sprint Cup races and set the bar high, the drivers will be aiming to continue that form and extend their championship advantage. However Team Verstappen Racing will arrive at the other end of the spectrum. In Misano, they claimed pole position but narrowly missed out on the victory in both races. The team seems strong but have had multiple disappointing moments across the season.
For some of these drivers, the last time they would have been out in these cars was for the 24 Hours of Spa, a race that requires endurance. They’ll need to switch back to sprint racing to succeed this weekend. Much like Spa, Magny-Cours requires precision. The circuit consists of heavy braking zones mixed with technical corners, the drivers need to find a driving style that will balance these both and give them the quickest time around the circuit. They will also need to be able to protect their tires over the 60-minute races.
