In his own classic, endearing, and hilarious Guenther way, Guenther Steiner is truly unfiltered on his live tour happening now across the UK. Continuing on from his rise after Drive to Survive (although he promises he’s never watched it!) Guenther tells his story of his motorsport career and rise - and fall - in Formula One (F1). This is truly not to be missed for F1 fans and leaves the whole venue laughing out loud.

Alongside the help of his ‘ghost writer,’ James Hogg, Guenther starts this sit-down evening sharing stories of his childhood growing up in the Italian mountains. This is where he quickly fell in love with motorsports but never imagined making a living from it!
He details applying for a mechanic job on a whim with the Mazda Rally Team - and not expecting to hear anything back - to moving jobs with the Ford Motor Co Rally team and working on their championship winning season whilst with drivers such as Colin McRae and Carlos Sainz Sr across 2000 and 2001. This work in the European Rally Car Championship teams would gain the attention of the wider motor sporting world being the catalyst which later had Nicki Lauda requesting to meet him. In this meeting with Lauda, Steiner was headhunted for the role of manager director for the Jaguar Racing F1 team. This job was the defining moment in his Formula One career and began a long road of highs and lows!
From here, Guenther discusses being approached by Gene Haas to help create the first American F1 team after multiple failed projects from previous years. Guenther took this in his stride and the team did surprisingly well in their first few seasons and even finishing 5th in the World Constructors Championship for 2018. Then, after a few driver changes and COVID, he tells us of the story of battling the 2021 season with a Haas line up of two rookies. In this time, Guenther was able to secure a large investment from Russian sponsor, Uralkali, which came to an end after just one season due to geopolitical tensions. Guenther quotes that in this case, ethics was far more important than money and he was prepared to do the right thing.
Of course, they couldn’t not mention the infamous Drive to Survive scene with rookie driver Mazepin slamming Guenther’s office door, and the onslaught that ensued!
After investments were cut and budgets grew tighter, the Haas team had struggled over the recent years and the easiest person for Gene to blame was Guenther himself. Towards the end of 2023, Guenther’s role as team principal all came to an end when he was buying a ham for dinner in the supermarket and he received a call from Gene.
But as of right now, it seems Guenther is just happy to be unemployed and doing whatever he pleases. From presenting at various F1 grand prix weekends, to writing books and going on tour, he’s in no rush to find a ‘real job’ and says he’s ‘pretty busy for an unemployed man’.
If you were considering getting tickets to his tour or know any avid F1 fans, this is your sign to go! A truly hilarious and captivating evening with Guenther Steiner just being himself.
Guenther is on tour in the UK until the 20th of July in various locations, before taking it across the pond to the USA.
