Aintree is a circuit rooted with history, built as the ‘Goodwood of the North’ but what is there to know about the circuit?

Aintree Motor Racing Circuit is located in the village of Aintree, Merseyside and is located within the Aintree Racecourse. The race circuit hosted the Formula One British Grand Prix five times, in 1955, 1957, 1959, 1961-62. In addition to this, Aintree had held 11 non-championship Formula One races. This was known as the Aintree 200 and when first hosted in 1954 was won by Stirling Moss and when last hosted in 1964 was won by Jack Brabham.
The Grand Prix circuit was in operation from 1954-1964 and was 4.828 km (3.000 mi) in length. The fastest lap around this circuit was set by Jim Clark in 1963 with a time of 1:51.800. Since then it has been the club circuit in use which is 2.470 km (1.535 mi) in length. This was operated by the Aintree Circuit Club from the mid-1960s to the late 1990s.
In the current day, there is a limited amount of motorsport that takes place on the circuit which includes car sprints, track days and motorcycle racing.
