This weekend, the world of Formula 1 takes on the Hungaroring, bringing Formula 3 along with it. Let's have a look at the weekend ahead.

The Hungaroring is a 4.381 km track located on the outskirts of Budapest, the capital of Hungary. F3 has raced in Hungary since 2020, during the updated calendar. The track consists of 14 turns and 2 DRS straights located down the pit straight and between turns 1- 2. The 476m run from the pole position allows for places to be made and lost on the first launch off the line.

Last time F3 raced at this circuit in 2024, Italian Nikita Bedrin won the Sprint Race with current F3 championship contender Nikola Tsolov taking home the Feature Race win with ART. Bedrin’s race win and 1-2 result for his team became history for AIX, being the team's first F3 race win with Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak coming in second. The current Hungaroring F3 lap record of 1:31.091 is held by former Prema driver Zak O'Sullivan, set in 2023.

Going into Hungary, Trident's Rafael Câmara leads the championship on 126 points over Campos driver Nikola Tsolov on 98 points. Following Tsolov, another Redbull Junior Driver in Tim Tramnitz sits in 3rd in the championship on 93, followed closely by newly signed Aston Martin Academy Driver, Mari Boya, on 85 points. With only two rounds left in the season, the title fight is heating up, particularly with many drivers fighting for second place in the championship.

In the teams championship, Trident are 11 points ahead of Campos on 232, MP trails next with 164 points as we start to wrap up a long season that has taken F3 around the world. The rest of the teams down the grid have all to fight for in the championship, as they try to climb as high as possible before the chequered flag at Monza.

Saturday’s Sprint Race sees the top 12 qualifiers reversed over a 19-lap or 88Km dash to the flag. On Grand-Prix Sunday, F3 will compete in a Feature Race of 24 laps or 105Km, where the top ten finishers are awarded F1 style points, plus an extra 2 for the Aramco Pole sitter.

Currently, the forecast for Budapest shows rain on Saturday for the Sprint Race, which could cause unexpected pit stops or strategy calls.

Strap in for another chaotic weekend in Formula 3.
