Malta’s Micallef Takes His First GB3 Campaign Victory

The Maltese driver took his first win of his GB3 campaign in the reverse grid race.

GB3 debutant Edu Robinson started Race 3 on pole alongside Maltese driver Micallef on the front row. Prior to the race start, Abbi Pulling was under investigation for a pit lane infringement. Green flags waved and Rodrigo Gonzalez was able to make a move on Robison for the lead into the first corner.

Further down the grid there was a three wide battle between Baptista, Pribyl and Fu and following this race control handed Fu a 10-second time penalty for a false start. Micallef managed to make a move on the Arden Motorsport of Leon Wilson for the final podium place. The Maltese driver moved his way up into second with two laps left to go and on the final lap Micallef took over the race lead. 

It was Micallef who was victorious at the chequered flag. In second was VRD Racing’s Patricio Gonzalez  and rounding off the podium was his Elite Motorsports GB4 debutant Edu Robinson.
