Marc Márquez Wins After A Perfect Weekend At Motegi
Marc Márquez won the Japanese Grand Prix at Motegi after a close battle with Jorge Martín. The Ducati rider stayed behind Martín for the first half of the race before making his move on the Aprilia rider and pulling away in the closing stages of the race. Marco Bezzecchi finished off the podium.

Martín Gets The Best Start
Jorge Martín started the race from pole position and had a strong start from which he could build a gap. Márquez stayed right behind him, while Marco Bezzecchi settled into third.
The opening laps were quite easy as the riders were managing their tyres. Martín managed to create a small gap to Márquez, but the gap was slowly starting to close as Márquez was moving closer.
By lap eight, Márquez was only around two tenths behind Martín. The two riders began to pull away from Bezzechi, turning the race into a fight between the two fighters for the championship.

Márquez Makes his Move
Márquez continued to put pressure on Martín and was looking for an opportunity to pass. On Lap 10, the ducati rider got close enough to Martín to attack and then he made his move at Turn 9.
Martín tried to stay with Márquez, but Márquez was immediately beginning to increase his pace to build a gap between the two of them, while Bezzecchi was left fighting to keep third place.
Márquez controlled the race from the front and avoided making any mistakes as the laps counted down.

Battle Behind the Leaders
Bezzecchi spent much of the race in third, but he started to come under pressure from Enea Bastianini during the final stages of the race.
Bastianini stayed close to Bezzecchi and was looking for an opportunity to take the final podium position. Bezzecchi did manage to defend third and held on until the chequered flag.
Further down the field, there were several close battles as riders were fighting for the remaining points. Diogo Moreira was unable to repeat his Sprint podium after crashing out of the race in Turn 9 on lap nine.
