Schuring Wins At Home To Take The Title

This weekend it was time for another round of the Porsche Supercup, this time at Zandvoort with two races, and both of them giving different race winners.

Race 1

In the first race of this double header weekend at Zandvoort, we got Paul Cauhaupé taking his maiden Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup victory. The rookie had a strong performance against the more experienced drivers in the field

Wouter Boerekamps led the race for the first three laps before he came together with Jaap van Lagen and moved off the racing line. Cauhaupé was fast to take advantage of the opportunity and got into the lead. The French rookie began to build a gap at the front, but the race was later stopped by a car that went off the track and damaged the barrier. After the restart behind the safety car, Cauhaupé kept his cool and defended his lead until the finish line.

Race 2

The second race was the most important of the weekend for Dutch driver Flynt Schuring. Starting from second behind Jaap van Lagen who had pole position, he initially had to follow his rival during the first few laps.

But after a safety car brought the field back together, Van Lagen made a small mistake at the restart which Schuring immediately took advantage of and made the move for the lead. Once in front of the pack, the Schumachar CLRT driver pulled away from the rest and built a lead of almost seven seconds to the finish.

For Schuring, victory meant more than any other race win. Winning for the last time in front of his home crowd and securing the title, making this an unforgettable last weekend at Zandvoort.

The series is now headed to Monza for the last round of this 2026 season, and this will also be where the Rookie and Team’s championship will be decided.
