The Formula E calendar travels from Sanya to Shanghai for the remaining two Chinese races making it a double header weekend. This is what you should know before the race weekend begins.
Track Facts
The E Prix takes place at the Shanghai International Circuit known for its looping turn one and long back straight; it has a track length of 3.051km making the race 31 laps long. Our fastest lap is held by Nick Cassidy who set a lap time of 1:10.564s in his Jaguar last year. This lap record was around 5 seconds faster than the previous one held by Norman Nato showing how the Gen 3 Evo has progressed the sport so drastically into one of the fastest motorsporting series in the world.
2025 Recap
Last year saw an already tactical series become more intense with the introduction of the Pit Boost. Gunther went on to win the E-Prix as teammate Jean-Eric Vergne made it a double podium finish for DS Penske, while rookie NEOM McLaren driver Taylor Barnard took third place. A very impressive race came from Dan Ticktum who started on the grid in 21st and managed to fight his way through the field with Cupra Kiro to take P4. Race 2 saw Cassidty take a wet win as the rain fell hard in Shanghai. TAG Heuer Porsche managed a 2-3 finish headed by the 2024 Champion - Pascal Wehrlein. Our championship leader: Oliver Rowland finished 13th allowing Wehrlein to bridge the points gap between themselves.
