Formula 2 much like Formula 1 had their Sprint Race on Saturday 4th of July. They provided an action packed race for the fans watching here are all the highlights from the race.

Lap one saw Mini retain his lead as Villagomez stole second place from Miyata and Tsolov moved from 6th to 3rd with many cars going wide as they jostled for position.
Montoya was pushed wide into the gravel down the start-finish straight, dragging Bennet with him as the British driver aimed to avoid the incident but ended up making contact, spinning and stopping in the middle of the road. Both drivers DNFed and the safety car was brought out for 4 laps.
Mini led the restart out of Club to begin Lap 8 when Shields spun briefly to bring out another yellow flag. The championship leader began to set fastest laps and build a gap between himself and Tsolov in second place, who had overtaken Villagomez round the outside of Stowe.

Stenshorne received a 10 second time penalty after forcing Camara off the track. Miyata continued to lose places with the likes of Inthraphuvasak, Bilinski, Beganovic, Dunne and Camara all overtaking him in the later stages of the sprint.
In the closing laps of the sprint Tsolov began to gain on Mini and repeatedly tried to make overtakes after the Hangar Straight and into Stowe with no avail. On the final lap Mini locked up allowing Tsolov to make an overtake and steal the lead into Luffield: he went on to take his 5th victory this season while Mini had to settle with silver and take his 8th podium of the season. Villagomez joined the championship rivals on the podium in third for VAR.

We had one post-race penalty which was a five second penalty for Varrone for forcing Stenshorne off the track. Overall we had a very exciting Sprint which undoubtedly foreshadows the action the Feature race can provide us on Sunday.
