The Women’s World Championship tournament just ended, crowning Switzerland champions once again after 20 years.

History of the tournament
First held in 1996, the World Cup was made to replace the European Cup. The tournament is held every second year, with the male series getting the even years and the women's tournament being hosted on the odd. The organisation behind it all is the International Floorball Federation (IFF).
In the history of the men's cup, there have been only two different champions: Finland and Sweden. Sweden has won ten titles, while Finland has won five, with their latest win being in Sweden last year. Prior to this year, Switzerland has never won, however, they have come very close a few times.
Meanwhile, at the women's cup, there have been three different champions. Sweden is not only dominating with their male team, but their women's squad has also won a title, increasing the nation's total to 21 championships. With Switzerland’s win on Saturday, they are equal in titles with Finland, each holding two.

Only one team has defeated Switzerland thus far, Czechia. In the end, Switzerland defeated them and became champions after 20 years of devastating losses.
