The MotoGP is Heading To The Netherlands

The tenth round of the 2026 MotoGP season is right around the corner and will be held in The Netherlands over the upcoming weekend.
The Dutch Grand Prix
The Dutch Grand Prix is right around the corner, it will take place from June 26th till June 28th at the TT Circuit Assen, it will be Round 10 of the MotoGP season. It will be an exciting race at the track that is known as the Cathedral of Speed, because of the fast change of directions and the high-speed flowing layout, this combination will be pushing the tired and the riders.
After some incredible races in the first nine rounds, the riders are arriving in the Netherlands to ride one of the most physically challenging races on the calendar. The emphasis for this weekend has shifted to mechanical endurance and the fitness of the rider. The high speed corners and the directional changes mean that one tiny physical mistake or a mistake in the bike setup can result in a trip into the gravel.
The Circuit And Its Challenges
The TT Circuit Assen has a very important history of hosting motorcycle races, the TT has been on the calendar since 1949, with the track layout being 4.45 km long. Unlike most tracks who have a stop-and-go nature, Assen has a classic, flowing high-speed circuit that demands precision from the riders.
The circuit consists of 18 corners in total, with 6 corners to the left and 12 to the right. With these corners it's important for the drivers that they manage the tires well, especially in high-speed sections like Ramshoek and the Geert Timmer chicane, these corners place a massive load and heat on the rear tire. The key to getting a fast lap at this circuit is the drivers ability to change direction at high speed while also keeping the bike stable under braking.
The Grid News
For the fans going to the TT, they atmosphere is planned to be electric, the local Dutch fans will be supporting their home hero Collin Veijer and Zonta Van Den Goorbergh in the Moto2 class, in the MotoGP we should look out for Marc Márquez, who has been getting stronger over the last couple of weeks on his Ducati as he continues to hunt his way further into the top.
