Last Thursday, NBA history was written as both Bam Adebay and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander broke big-time NBA records

SGA breaks Wilt Chamberlain's scoring record
126 games with 20 points or more, which was the record set by Wilt Chamberlain in his tenure at the Lakers, now belongs to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. After scoring 35 points in a game against the Boston Celtics, the 2025 MVP made history.
Bam’s 83-point night
SGA’s record was almost predictable; he was crawling closer to Chamberlain’s benchmark game by game. What wasn’t predictable, however, was Bam Adebayo scoring the second-most points in a single game in NBA history, ahead of Kobe and behind Wilt Chamberlain. He scored 83 points, 1 more than Kobe’s 82. But that was not the only record that Adebayo broke that night; he also got the record for most free throws attempted and most free throws made.
