WANDA DIAMOND LEAGUE SHANGHAI CHINA 2026

On 16th May the first diamond league of the year began at Shanghai China where world class athletes gave their best to start the outdoor season.

Women’s 400m 

Nickisha Pryce from Jamaica wins the first diamond league 400m of the season, clocking a 49.75 at Shanghai . Aaliyah Nickole Buttler from USA was second with a time of 49.78 and third was Salwa Eid Naser from Bahrain with a time of 51.56.

Womens 3000m Steeplechase   

Peruth Chemutai from Uganda wins the first diamond league and knocks off world champion Faith Cherotich from Kenya by the smallest of margins at Shanghai , clocking a 8:51.47 to Cherotich’s 8:51.48 to lead four women under nine minutes.

Women’s Shot Put

Jessica Schilder from the Netherlands wins the first diamond league at Shanghai by throwing a huge 21.09m effort in the fourth round setting a new DLR.

Men’s 800m

Mark English from Ireland wins the men’s 800m at Shanghai diamond league which is the second diamond league of his career by clocking a time of 1:43.85 and setting a new MR. Kethobogile Haingura from Botswana was second by 0.04 seconds and thirst was Brandon Miller from USA with a time of 1:44.00.

Women’s 200m 

Shericka Jackson from Jamaica wins the 200m with a time of 22.07 at Shanghai . Second was Shaunae Miller-Uibo from Bahamas with a time of 22.26 and third was Anavia Battle from USA with a time of 22.40.

Men's 100m

Tlotliso Gift Leotlela from South Africa wins the first diamond league at Shanghai with a time of 9.97 . Second was Ferdinand Omanyala from Kenya with a time of 9.98 and Kenny Bednarek from USA , Lachie Kennedy and Trayvon Bromell were fourth and fifth with a time of 10.01.

Women’s 1500m

Birke Haylom from Ethiopia wins the first diamond league with a time of 3:55.56 by setting a new WL  in her second ever 1500m and second was Tsige Duguma with a time of 3:55.71 which is 8 seconds off her PB.

Men’s 300m Hurdles 

Alison Dos Santos from Brazil wins the first diamond league of the year at Shanghai with a time of 33.01 . Second was Kastern Warholm from Norway with a time of 33.05.

Men’s Pole Vault 

Mondo Duplantis from Sweden wins the first diamond league of the year with a jump of 6.12m setting a new MR with no missed ahead of runner up Kurtis Marschall from Australia who took second with a jump of 5.80m.

Women’s 100m Hurdles 

Masai Russell from USA wins the first diamond league of the year at Shanghai with a time of 12.25 by setting a new WL and second was Devynne Charlton from Bahamas with a time of 12.38.

Men’s 110m Hurdles 

Jamal Britt from USA wins the first diamond league of the year and matches his lifetime best of 13.07 with a flawless run over the hurdles to take the win in Shanghai.

Men’s 3000m 

Mohamed Abdilaahi from Germany wins the first diamond league of the year by clocking a time of 7.25.77 and setting a new WL.

Men's Discus Throw 

Kristjan Ceh from Slovenia wins the first diamond league of the year with a throw of 70.58m by breaking the meeting record.

Women’s Long Jump

Monae Aliya Nichols from USA soars to victory at the first diamond league of the year with a huge leap of 6.89m in fifth round.
