Track details

The WEC first raced at COTA in 2013, continuing until 2017. After a few years of absence, it returned to the championship for a single race in 2020. After another few years of absence, it returned in 2024 and is now scheduled to remain on the calendar through 2026. Circuit of the Americas, commonly known as COTA, is recognised as one of the most technically demanding tracks in the WEC series. Stretching over 5.513 km, the circuit features 20 corners, 11 left and 9 right, each presenting a unique challenge for drivers and teams. COTA's excitement stems from its combination of high-speed esses, low-speed hairpins, long straights, and significant elevation changes that test both driver skill and car performance.

The track's design requires drivers to maintain high levels of concentration, as the distinction between the two race categories, Hypercars and LMGT3 cars, adds another layer of complexity.
