You are probably familiar with the fact that MotoGP is a motorbike racing championship, but here’s a deeper dive into the prestigious sport!

History of MotoGP
The first Grand Prix was in 1949 and was organised by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). There have always been different categories competing at each round. Classes include: 50cc, 80cc, 125cc, 250cc, 350cc, 500cc and 750cc.

These categories are now known as MotoGP, Moto 2, Moto 3 and Moto E. Moto E uses electric motorcycles, whereas the others use four-stroke engines.
The most successful rider to date is Giacomo Agostini. He has a record-breaking 15 championship titles and 122 race wins to his name. Agostini holds the title record of 8 in the top-flight series, followed by Valentino Rossi with seven and current rider Marc Márquez with six.
