Most people who follow motorsports are under the assumption that MotoGP is the only international motorcycle racing series. However, there is also WorldSBK. It is a silhouette road racing series based on heavily modified production sports motorcycles.

History of WorldSBK

Founded in 1988, this series consists of two races at each round/track that it visits. It has 3 championships that drivers and teams compete for. Those being the Riders Championship, Manufacturers Championship and Teams Championship. In the beginning, it was 1,000 V-twin engines (first Ducati then Aprilia and Honda) against 750cc four-cylinder engines of the Hondas, Yamahas, Kawasakis and Suzukis.
