Freddie Slater
Slater enters the season as a driver with the world at his feet after a trophy-filled junior formula career, and will no doubt be looking to add more to his cabinet in 2026. Slater surprisingly found himself without academy backing in his career until 2026. However, this was ultimately a strategic decision, specifically chosen to allow him to wait for the right offer to arise. The deadlock to this foregone conclusion ended recently as Slater was snapped up by Audi’s F1 junior programme, who announced him as their first official driver, clearly showing the huge pedigree the young Englishman holds in the racing world. In 2026, Slater will race with Trident in the Formula 3 championship - a very competitive grid will see him face off with teammates with similar ambitions. The challenge won't be easy but based on past performances, his talent should shine through and propel him to the top.

Rafael Camara
Rafael Camara has really come of age in the past seasons, taking home honours in both FRECA and Formula 3. The Brazilian will be looking to emulate his national counterpart - Gabriel Bortoleto - by winning the F2 and F3 titles consecutively, seeing him join a select group of racers who have completed the same feat. Camara has joined one of the strongest teams in Invicta Racing and should hit the ground running to become an instant title challenger, staking his claim and becoming the highest placed Ferrari academy junior driver in F2 in 2026.

Dino Beganovic
Could a Camara/Beganovic title fight be in the books for 2026? Only time will tell, however, it is clear that Ferrari have fielded two extremely strong competitors for this 2026 season. Beganovic has been a part of this academy for years and will be looking to repay their faith. He makes the interesting move to DAMS for 2026; a positive return to a team with whom he started his F2 career. He will be looking to rekindle that spark and, if achieved, this season is set for a strong performance from the driver.

Nikola Tsolov
The Bulgarian will compete in the Formula 2 series as a rookie in the 2026 season. Tsolov competed in a few rounds in the series towards the end of last season, in which he delivered some strong performances, including a debut podium finish of 3rd in the Abu Dhabi Sprint race. Tsolov will join Campos racing, continuing his synergy with the team, having competed with them in other series in 2022 and 2025. The Red Bull junior driver will aim (like Camara) for wins as a minimum initially, which could lead to a title charge by the end of the season.

Tuuka Taponen
The Finnish racer will be racing in his second season of Formula 3 racing after an inconsistent rookie season at ART last season which was largely down to ART weaker performance as a team. Taponen has made the decisive switch to join MP Motorsport in the hope of greater success in 2026 due to the increase of pressure on 2nd year drivers to perform. Tuukka had a few standout results last year including 3 podiums. The aim will be for a more consistent overall season which therefore should result in a fight for wins and podiums consistently that will support his title ambitions.

Matteo De Palo
This exciting Italian racer made a name for himself after a breakthrough season in 2025. This was ultimately due to the fact that he kept toe-to-toe with Freddie Slater for the FRECA title, with it going down to the final round at Monza. De Palo will reignite this rivalry in Formula 3, only this time he will partner Slater, with both working for the same manufacturer; Trident. This could make for an exciting storyline for 2026, as fans will eagerly await how their dynamic will develop. De Palo will be looking to build upon his successes from 2025 as he looks for his 1st junior single-seater title. Furthermore, De Palo has further impetus for this to become a reality, with the Mclaren F1 team trusting in his talents, making him a Mclaren junior driver in their most recent round of recruitment.

Matteo Colnaghi
The Italian-Argentine racer will be filled with promise heading into 2026 after his promotion to Formula 3 with MP Motorsport. This step up comes after he took home consecutive titles in the Spanish F4 and the Eurocup-3 across recent seasons. The camaraderie of the relationship between team and driver will be a positive aspect of this continued partnership into 2026 with the MP squad. The grid is filled with rookies for 2026, with over half of the grid slots occupied by them, and therefore this same synergy for Colnaghi could give him a vital edge over his competitors in terms of acclimating quickly in this new environment. As a driver accustomed to winning, Colnaghi will for sure make that an objective to replicate in 2026, aiming for his best under the watchful eyes of the Red Bull junior programme.

Theophile Nael
The French driver had an underrated 2025 campaign, winning the historical Macau GP and finishing a respectable 8th in F3, despite being under a team that isn't used to being front-running. He took some consistent sets of results throughout the year, including 3 podiums. He finished 7 places ahead of his nearest teammate as a rookie driver. This performance has rewarded Nael with a move to a more competitive team at the front of the grid; Campos Racing. 2026 will mark his second year as a driver, and he will be aiming to turn his consistency into race victories.

Thomas Strauven
The Belgian racer had an emphatic 2025 campaign, taking a dominant title victory in Spanish F4 in his second year in the series; taking 10 wins in 21 races with a winning margin of over 150pts. Furthermore, Strauven added more titles to his mantelpiece, taking the Eurocup-4 Winter title. In 2026, he will join the Eurocup-3 series with Campos and will look to take home the title in his rookie season, marking a continuation of his progression up the single-seater ladder to Formula 3 and beyond. In preparation, Strauven has taken part in the E3 edition of the Spanish Winter series where he managed a couple of top 10 results, with a best finish of P4 so far.

Dries Van Langendonck
Van Langendonck is a Belgian racer who has already made headlines, having a decorated karting career behind him - already having 10 titles to his name - at such a young age. In 2025, this was rewarded with Williams offering him a place in their junior racing programme. Van Langendonck made his single-seater debut in the final 9 races of the British F4 championship, where he not only took his first victory, but became the youngest ever to do so in the series. Furthermore, he has already started his 2026 campaign, strongly leading the Formula Winter Series having won 4 of the first 9 races and looking primed to take the title, making him one to look out for in 2026.

Rocco Coronel
This Dutch racer has had a decent karting career and looks to be “one to watch” for the future. He has recently dominated the Ginetta Junior championship as a rookie, (nearly breaking the record of most wins in a row!) where he took home the title. Furthermore, Rocco was rewarded with a spot on the Red Bull junior programme, with his acumen and ability behind the wheel already turning heads. He made his single seater debut in Spanish F4 and has already taken a podium finish. Recently, to start off 2026 in the Formula Winter Series, he took his first F4 victory and backed it up with a P2 in later races, despite having a spell of bad luck so far in the championship. Rocco will be looking to build upon these successes in 2026 as he attempts a full campaign with MP Motorsport in Spanish F4.

Honourable Mentions:
Alex Ninovic
Fionn Mclaughlin
Kean Nakamura Berta
Alba Larsen
Thibaut Ramaekers
Overall, these racers have all proved their incredible talent and will all be looking to be a standout racer in 2026 - but who will rise to the challenge and who will deliver underwhelming campaigns? We haven't got long to find out as the season is about to begin!
