Al Azhari Takes Sprint Race Victory at Jerez
The Emirati driver took a race victory in the sprint at Jerez, converting his pole position into a win.
Emirati driver Keanu Al Azhari starts on pole alongside Maximillian Popov on the front row. Al Azhari took the inside line on the start with Popov directly behind. On the entry into Turn 3, the Double R of James Hedley was off in the gravel after dislodging the rear tyre and rear wing with yellow flags waved and the grid neutralised under safety car conditions.
The sprint race was red flagged due to repairs needed on the barriers, completely neutralising the race. Cars were back out on track under the safety car and a great restart from Al Azhari. Yellow flags were waved with a minute to go for a car beached in the gravel, the #84 of Gino Trappa, with the safety car out.
Like the first race, the sprint finished under the safety car with Al Azhari taking another race victory in Eurocup-3, Popov taking a podium on his return to the championship and Perard on the final step of the podium.
