F1 Academy Is Back: Montréal Preview

After over a two-month long break due to cancelled events, F1 Academy is finally ready for round 2 of the 2026 season.

For its second consecutive season, the F1 Academy Championship will be racing at the 4.361km long track with its 14 turns has hosted the Formula 1 championship since 1978 - with the exception of four years where the event was cancelled.

Last year, Doriane Pin won Race 1, Emma Felbermayr won Race 2 and Chloe Chambers won Race 3, where she also set the fastest F1 Academy lap recorded at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve.

With all of that in mind, Montréal is set to be an exciting weekend with lots of names to try and keep or regain momentum after the long and unexpected spring break.

Drivers to look for:

One driver to look for this weekend is Emma Felbermayr - who won race 2 last year. She is currently leading the championship, sitting on 31 points after round 1 in Shanghai, China and has been consistent throughout that whole round.

Ella Lloyd is another driver to look for. The British driver finished 5th in the feature race in Shanghai and is currently tied at 5th place with Rafaela Ferreira. Lloyd has shown strong race craft and is always very fast and fighting for podiums. 

Alisha Palmowski is the last driver to look for as she is very good at capitalising in reverse grid races and has great single-lap pace, placing her 2nd in the standings.
