FC Barcelona’s Victory Against Osasuna Edges Them Closer to a Second Consecutive League Title

FC Barcelona faced off against Osasuna in a title defining game on Saturday May 2, 2026. With the potential to win the Spanish League if Real Madrid lost their game on Sunday against Espanyol, making this match an important one.

The starting ten for FC Barcelona included Joan Garcia in goal, Cancelo, Cubarsi, Gavi, Pedri, Lewandowski, Fermin Lopez,Gerard Martin, Rooney, Olmo, and Eric.
While Raphinha rejoined the squad on Saturday against Osasuna the striker did not participate in the match, likely being rested for the upcoming El Clasico taking place on May 10, 2026 at Camp Nou. Barcelona made early attempts at goal with Lewandovski taking a shot during the 9th minute of the game assisted by Olmo which went high, missing the goal.

Five minutes later Ferran Torres assisted by Fermin Lopez sent the ball past the Osasuna defence and into the back of the net; scoring another goal for FC Barcelona, and bringing them closer to a win.
Osasuna’s substitute, Raúl García sent the ball into the back of the Barcelona net by a header. The game ended after 8 minutes of stoppage time with a score of 2-1 in Barcelona’s favour, bringing them closer to clinching the Spanish League title. While Real Madrid won their game against Espanyol on Sunday, Barcelona is still 11 points clear of Real Madrid in La Liga. Barcelona only need one point to clinch the title meaning if they win against Real Madrid at Camp Nou they will be crowned champions of the Spanish League for the second year in a row, making this their first consecutive La Liga title since 2019.
