FC Barcelona clinched the LaLiga title after two early goals against Real Madrid in the El Clasico match played on May 10 at the Spotify Camp Nou stadium; making this the second time an El Clasico Match to directly decide the LaLiga title.Â

FC Barcelona came into Sunday's match 11 points clear of Real Madrid in second place on the points chart, meaning they only needed a draw to win the LaLiga title. Real Madrid was missing key players from their squad including players like Mbappe and Valverde, in addition to the challenges they have faced as a team this season.Â
As the first half kicked off Barcelona was able to make several runs past the defence of Real Madrid. Ultimately Barcelona’s first goal came in the form of a free-kick taken by Marcus Rashford, putting them one goal up at only 9 minutes into the first half. At the 18-minute mark, Ferran Torres converted a back-heeled assist from Dani Olmo to double Barcelona’s lead. This goal from Ferran Torres further highlighted the issues plaguing the Real Madrid squad as there was a large gap in the defence which enabled Ferran Torres to take his time deciding where and how to score the goal.Â
Despite great efforts and runs from players like Brahim Diaz on the Real Madrid side, none of these attempts converted into a goal. Gonzalo from Real Madrid had the team's closest shot on target; however, the ball went wide. Vini Jr. also made an attempt to score against FC Barcelona but a strong defence from Eric kept the ball out of the net, and ultimately left Barcelona 2 goals up making them the favourites to win that night's El Clasico.Â
The second half brought several attempts to score from both sides; however, neither side was able to convert their chances, until Jude Bellingham scored for Real Madrid; but, the goal was ruled offside by the officials. Notably in the second half FC Barcelona striker Raphinha made his return after missing several games due to a hamstring injury.Â
It is no doubt that FC Barcelona has had a dominant run this LaLiga campaign having won 11 LaLiga games in a row leading up to El Clasico title-clinching victory.Â
