Newly promoted Hull City (known as the Tigers to many fans) has had its ups and downs as a club, from nearly going bankrupt in 1980 to getting promoted to Premier League next season.

Early Years
Hull City was founded in 1904 by sixteen public school boys at Boverlard (which became Hull City's first playing grounds). On September 4, 1904, Hull City played its first ever match against Notts County. The Tigers played over 40 games in the first season. The tiger moved to Bootherry Park in 1906. The majority of Hull's early footballing history was spent in lower leagues. This was due to a lot of financial difficulties and lack of resources, despite all this, Hull gained a strong fan base of local supporters.

Rises To Success
After falling to the 4th division in 1981, Hull had finally started to make a comeback and climb back up. The Tigers got promoted twice, within a couple of years of management from Colin Appleton and Brian Horton, helping the team from going to waste. Even though in the 1990s the club had financial issues and was relegated, they still managed to get a new stadium in 2002 thanks to loyal supporters.

Modern Era Premier League Dream
The modern era has been an exciting one for the tigers. In 2008, Hull City gained their first promotion to the Premier League. This was a massive moment for Tiger fans as it became the first team from the city to play in England's top division. However, shortly after Hull City got relegated. This season, Hull city has successfully managed to get themselves promoted to the Premier League once again after beating Middlesbrough 1-0 at Wembley.
