The 2026 Wera Tools British F4 championship will be remembered as an JHR Developments masterclass. The Norfolk countryside witnessed a thrilling weekend of single-seater actions as the grid took on the 300 circuit. This article will tell you everything that happened so you will be up to speed.

Race 1: A Safety Car Nightmare
The opening race of the weekend was in the afternoon of 23th of May, but this race turned into some high drama right from the start. The pole-sitter and the rookie sensation Lewis Wherell got a good launch off the line, but as the field started to bunch up behind him, a multi-car tangle erupted at the last corner. Kit Belofsky and Tommy Harfield had nowhere to go, and clip wheels at high speed.
Harfield’s car got violently thrown into the trackside barriers, as debris flew around everywhere. Several other drivers got caught into the mess, and the safety car was deployed almost instantly. When the racing resumed with just 8th minutes left on the clock, Wherrel got away from the field, behind him Hitech’s Scott Kin Lindblom and Dries Van Langendonck were battling fiercely, giving Wherrell the breathing room he needed to bring home his maiden victory.
Race 2: Jünling Conquers the Reverse Grid
If the first race was full of drama, Sunday morning only meant one thing: a reversed-grid layout, and this race was even tighter. Right after the lights went out, mid-pack drivers went three-wide into Riches. Cash Felber made contact with the drivers around him, causing a chain reaction that swept up several cars, leaving a few drivers to return to their pit boxes looking noticeably furious.
Through the chaos, Timo Jüngling showed some spectacular driving skills for JHR developments. He sliced his way through the pack from the line to take victory. Fortec Motorsports Cash Felber put up an amazing defensive drive to take second place, while Dries Van Langendonck showed why he is the leader in the championship by making his way from seventh to finish the race in third.
Race 3: Wherrel Makes it Double
The final race of the weekend was that afternoon, this race was stopped early by a red flag following an incident that required track clearance. When the race restarted with a short 12-minute sprint, the tension was visible in the front of the pack.
Hitech’s Adam Al Azhari tried to keep the lead, but Lewis Wherrell managed to stay close behind him despite the track having an unpredictable grip .With only a few laps left in the race, Wherrell made a clean and decisive pass to take the lead of the race. He pulled away from the pack and comfortably won the race and secured a dominant double victory, sealing a clean sweep for JHR Developments across all three races this weekend.
Championship Outlook
The only team that was smiling through most of the chaos that was happening all around was the JHR Developments crew. They navigated through the madness to get the maximum amount points. With his title rival failing to get major points in the last final sprint, championship leader Dries Van Langendonck leaves this weekend with a hard-earned cushion, but Wherrell is closing in fast.
The paddock gets a small moment to breathe and get some rest before heading to Silverstone for the iconic Grand Prix circuit round at the end of May.
