Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah Has Announced He Will Leave the Reds at the End of the 2025/2026 season

After 9 years with the scouse side, the best African player in the history of the Premier League has announced that he will leave the Reds at the end of this season, after appearing for the side 310 times and scoring over 180 goals.

Mohamed Salah opened his book for Liverpool in 2017, when he joined from Serie A side AS Roma on a 5-year contract for £34 million, where he exceeded expectations. That small, nobody for Chelsea finally expressed himself fully in the English Premier League. Mohamed Salah became the Premier League’s top goalscorer from foreign countries and became the all-time African goalscorer in the Premier League, Liverpool fans calling him “The Egyptian King” because of this.

In 2023, the Egyptian King became Liverpool’s all-time top goalscorer in the history of the Scouse sides' 110 seasons in the Premier League. In 2023, Salah also became the 5^th player of Liverpool FC to score 200 goals for this prestigious club. However, fast forward to 2025, and he became Liverpool’s 3^rd highest goalscorer in the history of the Reds behind the respected legends Roger Hunt and Ian Rush.

In terms of trophies, Salah has claimed many individual and team trophies throughout his time as a Red. He has won two League (Carabao) Cup titles, one FA Cup, one UEFA Super Cup, one Club World Cup, the 2019 Champions League, and he can now be called a two-time Premier League winner.

In addition to this, Salah has won many individual trophies. He has won three FWA Footballer of the Year awards, four Premier League Golden Boots, two Premier League Player of the Season awards, two Premier League Playmaker of the Season awards, and the 2018 Puskas award for his phenomenal strike against Everton in the Merseyside draw. Additionally, Mohamed Salah finished 3^rd twice for FIFA’s best player in the years 2018 and 2021, and also finished 4^th in the 2025 Ballon D’Or ceremony, to which Ousmane Dembele won that.
