This weekend it was time for the ninth round of the MotoGP 2026 season, it was held at the Autodromo Brno where 21-laps at an 47 degrees track were pushing both machine and rider and this article will tell you everything that happened so you will be all up to speed.

Márquez Outduels Bagnaia and Keeps Ogura Behind Him
The race was looking quiet straight forward from the start, with Ogura starting on Pole and Márquez back in fifth nobody expected him to be looking for the win, after also having a crash earlier in the week, but after lights went out it suddenly became and chess match between Márquez and Bagnaia who took the lead early in the race, after Bagnaia took the lead he began dictating the pace and breaking away from the pack. However Márquez timed his attack perfectly, keeping close to his rear wheel.
The track was getting hotter, it was also starting to take a toll on the medium compound tires, Bagnaia was starting to lose grip in his rear tire. Taking advantage of this moment, Márquez planned a flawless attack, going past his teammate into the lead.
While Bagnaia was falling back into third place, Márquez’s race wasn't done. He had the fierce and late-race attacker Ai Ogura behind him, he was throwing everything he had at Márquez, matching him sector-for-sector but Márquez held his lines, and it worked out because he crossed the line +0.421 seconds in front of Ogura. Just behind them in fourth place Fabio Di Giannantonie showed an incredible final push lap, setting the fastest lap of the race and securing fourth place.

Drama Across the Grid
The biggest talk across the paddock this morning was that Championship leader Marco Bezzecchi was handed a DNS suspension for the race on Sunday. The FIM Stewards handed him the severe penalty following a physical interaction between Bezzecchi and a track marshal after his crash on Saturday.
This made this race a massive point-scoring chance for Jorge Martín, but the Aprilia rider had a long lap penalty after the collision in Hungary last round. This penalty dropped him deep into the order, forcing him to make his way up the standings and finishing in ninth.
Pedro Acosta also didn't have the smoothest race, he was fighting Joan Mir for fifth place for multiple laps. He was looking to secure a top five finish in this race until a technical failure forced him to retire on the very last lap. Mir was able to bring his Honda home into fifth place. Marking his best result in this season.
