Oliver and Elliott confidently secured the 2025 WRC2 title at the eleventh round in Chile. With an impressive tally of six stage wins, the team not only won the rally but also clinched the championship with three rounds remaining in the season. Their outstanding performance highlights their skill and determination throughout the competition.

What is WRC2
WRC2 is the support series to WRC. WRC2 competes at the same 14 rallies as WRC does, but teams can only choose seven rallies to score points in, with their best six results of the seven counting towards the championship title. In any other rally they participate in, points would not count. It isn’t easy to choose the perfect weekend every time. The number of points scored for your position is the same for both Rally1 and 2 cars, giving points to the top ten: 25, 18, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1.
Oliver and Elliott's Season
Oliver Solberg is a Swedish WRC2 Driver, and his Co-Driver Elliott Edmondson is British. Together, they race a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 car, but run a special Quadrant/Monster Energy livery. Oliver and Elliott have completed their 7-point scoring rounds, winning five rallies, then getting a 5th place, and a 16th place. With their best six results, they obtain a total of 135 points, while second place is at 99 points. With only one more points-scoring rally for second place, it would be impossible to score enough points, as 1st place earns 25 points. During the season, Oliver and Elliott were given the opportunity to drive the Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 car in Estonia for round 8. They blew everyone away, achieving their first stage win during SS2 and achieving eight more stage wins and maintaining the lead from SS2 all the way to the final 21st stage, leading them to win their first Rally1 event.
However, not everything was perfect for them throughout the season. For example, at round 9 in Rally Finland, he chose to take points, but unfortunately for them, the car had a problem, dropping them to the back on Friday, making it really hard to catch up, and they finished in 16th place. Back at round three, Oliver and Elliott had built a nice lead until they got stuck in the sand, causing them to retire for the day, losing their big lead. But they came back the next day and pushed because they weren’t going to let this stop them, and finished the weekend in 5th. Even round 10 in Paraguay, having a puncture on the first day, dropping them back a minute. They knew they had to push and give it their all, and they did so, winning Rally Paraguay.
With all their setbacks in the season, Oliver and Elliott showcased their strong resilience and perseverance, ultimately helping them achieve the WRC2 title. Their performance has sparked excitement about their potential in a full-time Rally1 car. The question arises: Do they deserve to have a full-time seat in a Rally1 car? The answer is a resounding yes, as their future in Rally1 looks promising, and we can't wait to see what they achieve next.
