AIX has just announced a driver change for the upcoming Formula 3 round, here is what you need to know.
After an unfortunate crash during Monaca GP for Brad Benadives, where he suffered a fracture to four of his thoracic vertebrae, Benadives will have to be sidelined for the upcoming rounds, leaving the team with an open seat.
Joining the team is young driver Salim Hanna for the next round in Spielberg, Austria. Currently Hanna is racing in the Formula Regional European Championship with Prema, meaning the driver is used to this style of weekend however it will still be a big step up for him.
At his last FREC race weekend in Monza, Hanna scored a P3 and a P2 podium in the first two races, showcasing the talent the young driver has, he’ll be wanting to take these skills and transfer them into Formula 3 to prove he’s earned the spot to race.
AIX have said that Hanna arrives at the team with strong potential and a determined approach to the competition. Hanna is going to have limited preparation time for the weekend with the short notice that he will be racing, meaning he is going to need to showcase his determination and make his mark. Huge sponsors and racing teams watch these races and will be watching how he performs closely, meaning Hanna will need to make a mark if he wants to impress and develop his career.
