With the Winter Olympics having reached its close, let's learn about the man who took gold for his country, his name standing out in the skiing categories. But who actually is Swiss skier Franjo von Allmen?

Biography
Franjo von Allmen is a 24-year-old ski racer, born on the 24th of July in Boltigen in the Bernese Oberland, Switzerland. He mostly specialises in the speed disciplines, such as downhill and super-G. His love for skiing began early on as he took his first turns on the snow at the Jaunpass as a child and he has since dedicated his life to the sport. Von Allmen has trained in a very grounded and hands-on way whilst having completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter for four years alongside his skiing. He stated that he still sometimes enjoys working in construction during the off-seasons, helping his brother in their family’s transport business and tinkering on projects in his garage as well. He competes for Skiclub Boltigen and represents the Swiss-Ski Nationalmannschaft (National team) at international competitions.
Style and personality
Franjo himself said that he would love to be known as a skier who is driven by the pure love of skiing, speed and emotion rather than just winning medals. That’s why the athlete loves to live a grounded lifestyle with a blend of that raw athletic intensity. Even at the top level, he loves to keep in touch with everyday work and hobbies. He also has a dedicated fan club called #FRANATIKER, where his supporters and fans can follow his season progress as well as join community events.
Skiing career and achievements
Von Allmen made his World Cup debut on the 4th of March back in 2023 in Aspen, USA. His first-ever podium at a World Cup though, only came in January of 2024 at the super-G in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. His first-ever WC win came about a year later, in January of 2025, at the super-G in Wengen, Switzerland. He also received two gold medals at the 2025 Alpine World Championships. Once in the category Downhill and the other in the category team combined. Now, speaking of gold medals, Von Allmen absolutely swept them away at this year’s Winter Olympics. He won 3 gold medals and has now become one of the few male skiers to win 3 gold medals at the Winter Olympics as well as the first Swiss person to win the super-G at the Olympics. Von Allmen got his first Gold for winning the downhill, followed by the team combined with Tanguy Nef as his teammate and then, as mentioned earlier, the Olympics super-G.
Sponsors
Franjo von Allmen is sponsored by some incredibly iconic brands, which he has said helped fund his career a lot and that he owes them half of his career. His one and main sponsor is actually Red Bull and reportedly, they pay him about CHF 400’000 - CHF 500’000 annually, which also includes gear and other things, so that he can prepare for competitions accordingly. Being Swiss obviously also comes with some Swiss sponsors, which in this case are Breitling, a Swiss watch company, and Raiffeisen, a bank. Von Allmen is also a brand ambassador for the Boltigen Simmental Jaunpass, which he grew up skiing on, as he likes to still show appreciation for the places he has originated from and started his career.
Franjo Von Allmen is an incredible talent and seeing him sweep one medal after another at the Olympics is just a testament to how much he has grown as a skier, athlete and person. From being called just a mid-tier skier, he now gets to show how much potential comes with years of hard training.
