The Lineup Is Set: The Four Teams Heading To The TruckScout24 EHF FINAL4 2026

The four teams going into the men's handball FINAL4 are now confirmed. Here is a closer look on the contenders.

With the last rounds of the quarter-finals having been played in the Champions League, there are now four teams across Europe to play for the ultimate title - and interestingly enough the lineup is the exact same as last year.

SC Magdeburg

The first contender is the defending champions, SC Magdeburg. After their 5th EHF Champions League title-win last year, the German team is looking to defend their European crown at their fourth consecutive EHF FINAL4.

The team has shown both experience and composure throughout the quarter-finals, once again proving why they are among the strongest teams in Europe. Throughout the campaign this season, they have delivered consistent performance, even against some of the toughest competition.

Füchse Berlin

Another team heading into this year's EHF FINAL4, is another German team, Füchse Berlin. Last year they were the runner-up to SC Magdeburg, who eventually took the trophy home, in an all-german final.

WIth players like Mathias Gidsel - who has just broken the record for most scored goals in a Champions League season on 144 goals so far - Berlin now heads to Cologne with another chance to fight for the biggest title in European handball.

Aalborg Håndbold

Another team returning to the EHF FINAL4, having participated in both 2020/21 and 2023/24 where they lost on both occasions to FC Barcelona, is the Danish team Aalborg Håndbold.

Throughout this season Aalborg Håndbold has shown continued strong performances. Combining fast attacking handball with solid defense displays in crucial moments, along with homegrown talent combined with international experience, the Danish team is heading into the FINAL4 hoping to win their maiden EHF FINAL4.

FC Barcelona

Completing the FINAL4 lineup is the Spanish, record champions, FC Barcelona, continuing their remarkable success at the top of European club handball.

Their ability to deliver under pressure and during crucial moments, whilst controlling matches in both attack and defense, has helped them secure a spot for the 2026 EHF FINAL4 and as one of the biggest clubs, Barça will once again enter this final stage of this season's Champions League with their sight firmly set on lifting the trophy for the 12th time to extend their record.

Before the FINAL4 taking place on the 13/14 June, a draw ahead of this exciting weekend will be happening on May 12th 15:00 CEST to decide which teams will meet who in the semi finals.
