WANDA DIAMOND LEAGUE ZURICH 2025 FINAL (KEY EVENTS)

The time of the final Diamond League has come. Weltklasse Zurich hosted the grand finale of the Wanda Diamond League at Sechseläutenplatz on 27 August and Letzigrund Stadium on 28 August. We saw the world’s best athletes do their best performance for the prestigious Diamond Trophy.

Katie Moon - Women’s Pole Vault

Katie Moon from USA soars over 4.82m at the Final Diamond League in Zurich 2025 and becomes for the first time the Diamond league champion of 2025, helping the USA place 1-2-3 with Sandi Morris taking 2nd place and Emily Groove taking 3rd place by clearing both 4.75m.


Nicola Olyslagers - Women’s High Jump

Nicola Olyslagers from Australia clears a massive 2.04m that puts her as the highest jumper in the world this year, causing her to set a World Lead and an Oceania Record becoming the Diamond league champion of 2025. Yaroslava Mahuchikh from Ukraine was 2nd with 2.02m and Morgan Lake from Great Britain was 3rd with 2.00m.


Joe Kovacs - Men's Shot Put

Joe Kovacs from USA launches 22.46m to become the Diamond League champion in the men’s shot put. He technically earns a Wild Card but can’t use it unless one of the other four men on Team USA withdraws. He will be entered as a “Reserve Athlete” at the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo Japan.


Armand Duplantis - Men’s Pole Vault

Armand Duplantis from Sweden takes the win on men’s pole vault and becomes the Diamond League champion by clearing 6.00m after clearing three previous heights 5.50m, 5.80m and 5.90m on his 1st attempt. Emmanouil Karalis from Greece was 2nd with 6.00m as the same with Duplantis, but Karalis cleared 6.00m on his 3rd attempt and Sam Kendricks was 3rd by clearing 5.80m on his 3rd attempt.


Simon Ehammer - Men’s Long Jump

Simon Ehammer from Switzerland takes home win in men’s long jump with a jump of 8.32m on his 3rd attempt to become the Diamond League champion. 2nd was Mattia Furlani from Italy with a jump of 8.30m and 3rd was Liam Adcock from Australia with a jump of 8.24m.


Jessica Schilder - Womens Shot Put

Jessica Schilder from the Netherlands is the winner of women’s shot put with a throw of 20.26m. On her second attempt, Sarah Mitton managed a 20.67m but that throw was listed as invalid. As a result Sarah Mitton from Canada finished 3rd with a final attempt throw of 19.99m and Chase Jackson from USA finished 2nd with a throw of 20.08m.


Valarie Allman - Women’s Discus Throw

Valarie Allman from USA takes the win for the 5th time in the women’s discus Diamond League Final becoming the Diamond League champion in Zurich with a throw of 69.18m. Yaime Pérez from Cuba was 3rd with a throw of 66.08m and Jorinde Van Klinken from Netherlands was 2nd with a throw of 67.15m.


Mykolas Alekna- Men’s Discus Throw

Mykolas Alekna from Lithuania became the Diamond league Champion for the 2nd time with a throw of 68.89m on his 3rd attempt. Kristjan Ceh from Slovenia was 2nd with a throw of 67.18m and Roje Stona from Jamaica was 3rd with a throw of 67.06m.


Salwa Eid Naser - Women’s 400m

Salwa Eid Naser from Bahrain wins in women’s 400m by clocking a time of 48.70, setting a new Meet record to become a Diamond League Champion for the 3rd time in the 400m event. She beat Marileidy Paulino from Dominican Republic who came 2nd with a time of 49.23. 


Hamish Kerr- Men’s High Jump

Hamish Kerr from New Zealand takes the win in men’s high jump and becomes the Diamond League champion with a jump of 2.32m. He entered at a jump of 2.16m and he continued higher until the Ukrainian high jumper Oleh Doroshchuk placed 2nd with a jump of 2.30m. JuVaughn Harrison from the USA was 3rd with a jump of 2.25m.


Leyanis Pérez Hernández - Women’s Triple Jump

Leyanis Pérez Hernández from Cuba takes the win in women’s triple jump and becomes the Diamond League champion with a jump of 14.91m. Cuba achieved a 1-2-3 with 2nd Liadagmis Povea with a jump of 14.72m and Davisleydi Velazco 3rd with a jump of 14.65m.


Cordell Tinch - Men’s 110m Hurdles

Cordell Tinch from USA takes the win in men’s 110m hurdles and becomes the Diamond League champion with a time of 12.92 setting a new Meet record. 2nd was Enrique Llopis from Spain with a season best time of 13.12 and 3rd was Jamal Britt from USA with a time of 13.21.


Elina Tzengo - Women’s Javelin Throw

Elina Tzengo from Greece takes the win in women’s javelin throw and becomes the diamond league champion for the 1st time with a throw of 64.57m on her 1st attempt to secure the win.


Femke Bol - Women’s 400m Hurdles

Femke Bol from Netherlands takes her 5th diamond league trophy. Femke took the win in women’s 400m hurdles with a time of 52.18 setting a new Meet record. Emma Zabletalova from Slovakia was 2nd with a time of 53.18 setting a new Slovakia Record and Andrenette Knight from Jamaica was 3rd with a time of 53.76.


Karsten Warholm - Men’s 400m Hurdles

Karsten Warholm from Norway takes the win in men’s 400m hurdles and becomes the diamond league champion for the 3rd time with a time of 46.70 setting a new meeting record. Abderrahman Samba from Qatar was 2nd with a time of 47.45 and Ezekiel Nathaniel from Nigeria was 3rd with a time of 47.56.


Larissa Iapichino - Women’s Long Jump

Larissa Iapichino from Italy takes the win in women’s long jump and becomes the diamond league champion beating Malaika Mihambo from Germany by one centimeter. Iapichino jumped 6.93m and Mihambo finished 2nd with a jump of 6.92m. Hilary Kpatcha from France was 3rd with a jump of 6.75m.


Julian Weber - Men’s Javelin Throw

Julian Weber from Germany takes the win in men’s javelin throw to become the diamond league champion with a throw of 91.51m setting a new World Lead. Neeraj Chopra from India was 2nd with a throw of 85.01m and Keshorn Walcott from Trinidad & Tobago was 3rd with a throw of 84.95m.


Julien Alfred - Women’s 100m

Julien Alfred from Saint Lucia takes the win in women’s 100m and becomes the diamond league champion with a personal best time of 10.76m.


Christian Coleman - Men’s 100m

Christian Coleman from USA takes the win in men’s 100m with a time of 9.97 and becomes the diamond league champion. Akani Simbine from South Africa was 2nd with a time of 9.98 and Ackeem Blake from Jamaica was 3rd with a time of 9.99.


Noah Lyles - Men’s 200m

Finally, Noah Lyles from USA takes the win in men’s 200m and becomes the diamond league champion with a time of 19.74 and he beats Letsile Tebogo from Botswana by .02 milliseconds. Letsile Tebogo was 2nd with a time of 19.76 and Alexander Ogando from Dominican Republic was 3rd with a time of 20.14.
