Brooke Kitson is a British racer in the BriSCA Formula One Stock Car series, making her debut in 2024. This article will delve into her background, achievements, and life outside the cockpit!
Kitson’s Childhood
Brooke has grown up around the roar of engines and been raised through wheel-to-wheel battles with her dad, Darren (Daz) Kitson, a former BriSCA competitor. Her relationship with her dad is a close one, as they would work together on his stock car, developing Brooke’s racing interest from an early age and enabling her to expand on her knowledge through hands-on work.
Kitson competed in MiniStox as a junior driver (from age 11 to 16) and was a force to be reckoned with, dominating the field and winning a heat and her first feature race in King’s Lynn. These achievements propelled her into BriSCA - a more senior and challenging series - in March 2024, making her debut on her 16th birthday at Skegness Raceway.
Racing Achievements
Brooke is a phenomenal racer and has a real passion for Stock Car racing, clearly reflected in her outstanding achievements in her career so far. Although her Formula One Stock Car career has been a fairly recent development, Brooke’s silverware success is something to be marveled at - having secured 4 race wins and over 20 podiums.
Kitson narrowly missed out on taking another win in Holland last year; with just a corner left, she was taken out at the very last second, leaving the entire crowd shocked and disappointed. However, she still received a well deserved round of applause for her efforts - a true testament to her impact!
Kitson is also a great example of adaptability as an athlete, having also competed in 2L Saloon in December 2025.
Brooke’s Impact on Female Representation in Motorsports
Kitson is a member of the Girls On Track UK group who aim to inspire future generations of women in motorsport; and it is clear that she is doing just that! Her vibrant pink car stands out in the crowd and ensures everyone watching knows who is dominating the track. Her presence has given many girls the confidence to pursue a career in the industry, looking up to her as a role model - something which Brooke takes great pride in. Kitson’s unwavering commitment to stepping up to break the stereotypes even when it was “daunting” is truly admirable.
Brooke has always advised and encouraged her fans to not be scared to be a woman in motorsports. Whilst it definitely does come with its own challenges; including the sport being very expensive, and the need for a high level of knowledge to race, Brooke believes that this shouldn’t be a deterrent! Girls in Motorsports is very approachable with everyone “in the same boat” who are always open to a conversation!
