Winning Willis - A First Race Victory at Silverstone

The Hillspeed driver took his first GB4 campaign win in the reverse grid race.

Starting on pole for the reverse grid race was Hillspeed’s Connor Willis with his teammate Hallman starting alongside him on the front row. An excellent start from Willis as green flags were waved but slightly further down the grid, there was a puncture for Emmilio Valentino Del Grosso who pulled off into a safe place on track, not the end of the race the Venezuelan would have wanted. 

Hilton and Grant went wheel to wheel as Grant managed to hold onto position. The Hillspeed of Hallman fell down the order into 18th. Pace Performance teammates Byrne and McLean were challenging each other for position as Byrne made it up to second place.

The safety car boards were shown by marshals for an incident involving Faris Organji, Jamie Leverton, William Rohan. This had neutralised the grid and the restart saw an incredible getaway from Connor Willis. However with two minutes to go the Pace Performance of McLean and the Nitrous Competitions ADM of Luke Hilton collided, Hilton was off into the gravel and McLean had lost his front wing.

Further down the grid, the Hillspeed of Demitri Nolan was handed a 10-second time penalty by race control for a jump start. 

It was Willis who was victorious at the chequered flag. In second was Pace Performance’s Torrin Byrne and rounding off the podium was his Fortec Motorsport’s Thomas Ingram Hill.

Following the race the Douglas Motorsport of Conor Grant and the Fox Motorsport of Jasser Iskander were disqualified as a result of not complying with the yellow flag signals in the race.
