The World Athletics Awards 2025 were held on the evening of November 30th at Monaco Monte - Carlo,bringing together the top stars of the season to celebrate their achievements. The event paid tribute to the world’s track and field athletes of the year, showcasing remarkable records, global championship victories and outstanding contributions that helped elevate the sport .
Male Field Athlete of the year - Mondo Duplantis

Swedish pole vault star Mondo Duplantis is the winner of Male Field athlete of the year. This marks the 4th time he earns a World Athletic award, adding yet another to his incredible lists of achievements. In a season where he secured his 4th straight global pole vault title and broke his own world record four separate times, Duplantis once again proved why he’s in a league of his own.
Female Rising Star - Zhang Jiale

Zhang Jiale, the Chinese hammer throw is the Female Rising Star winner, earning the award as one of the sport’s most promising talents.
Male Rising Star - Edmund Serem

Edmund Serem the Kenyan long distance runner is the winner of Male Rising Star winner, recognizing him as one of the most promising athletes in the world.
Female Out Of Stadium Athlete - María Pérez

María Pérez the Spanish race walker is the winner of the Female Out of Stadium Athlete of the year, celebrating her standout performances beyond the track.
Male Out of Stadium Athlete - Sabastian Sawe

Sabastian Sawe the Kenyan long distance runner is the winner of the Male Out of Stadium Athlete of the year. The standout marathon runner of 2025 adds yet another major honor to his résumé, earning world athletics recognition after delivering another superlative season.
Female Field Athlete of the Year - Nicola Olyslagers

Nicola Olyslagers the Australian high jumper is the winner of the Female Field Athlete of the Year. With 5 Diamond League victories, an Oceanian record of 2.04m, and world titles both indoors and outdoors, Olyslagers caps off her remarkable achievements by adding the World Athletics Field Athlete of the Year award to her growing list of triumphs.
Coaching Achievement Award- Michael O’Connor

Coach of Kate O’Connor, Michael O’Connor has been awarded as the 2025 Coaching Achievement Award Winner. A lifelong learner and dedicated strategist he has influenced Irish combined events for more than 2 decades and guided his daughter Kate to win the silver medal at the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 2025.
Woman Of The Year Award - Ruth Jepchumba Bundotich

Ruth Jepchumba Bundotich has received the 2025 World Athletics Woman of the Year Award, recognizing her remarkable leadership, her dedication to supporting athlete development and her significant impact on advancing women's athletics in Kenya and around the world.
World Athletics Photograph Of The Year - Vegard Grøtt

Photographer Vegard Grøtt has been awarded as a winner of the 2025 World Athletics Photograph of the Year. His striking image of athletes racing in the Dream Mile was taken at this year’s Oslo Bislett Games.
Member Federation Of The Year - China

China has been awarded as the winner of the Member Federation Award, as part of the World Athletics Awards 2025. This award celebrates a federation that has stood out through its achievements over the years and its strong contribution to raising the profile of the sport.
Female Track Athlete Of The Year - Sydney Mclaughlin - Levrone

Sydney Mclaughlin Levrone from USA is the winner of the Female Track Athlete of the Year. Despite competing only a few times in her main event Mclaughlin earned her 2nd World Athletics Athlete of the year award thanks to a historic 400m season that featured two American records and the first sub-48 second performance by a woman in 40 years culminating in her world title.
Male Track Athlete Of The Year - Emmanuel Wanyonyl

Emmanuel Wanyonyl from Kenya continues to rack up accolades, as the Kenyan 800m star is awarded as the World Athletics Track Athlete of the Year winner. Along with securing the world title, Wanyonyl was once again the fastest man in the world this year with a remarkable 1:41.44 and won 5 Diamond League races including the final in Zurich.
President’s Award - Bruce McAvaney

Australia’s Bruce Mcavaney is the President's Award of the Year winner . Established in 2016 the award recognizes and celebrates outstanding service and dedication to the sport of athletics.
World Female Athlete of the year - Sydney McLaughlin - Levrone

For the first time since 2022, Sydney McLaughlin Levrone is the World Athletics Athlete of the Year winner. The 26 year old claimed her first world title in the 400m and her 9th global gold overall delivering a breathtaking 47.78 in the final in Tokyo, the fastest time by a woman in the world in 40 years and nearly a full second faster than the previous world record.
World Male Athlete of the Year - Mondo Duplantis

Mondo Duplantis the Swedish pole belayer is the World Athlete of the Year winner. He secured his 5th straight global pole vault title, broke his own world record 4 times this season and now he earns the world athletics athlete of the year honor for the 4th time in 6 years.
Fair Play Award - Tim Van de Velde

Finally, The Belgian Steeplechaser Tim Van De Velde is the Fair Play Award winner in recognition of his selfless act of assisting San Martín during the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.
