This round marks the third round of the 2026 season, after previous races in Australia and Portugal, also making this the first European round of the year. It is a three day event taking place across the 17th to 19th of April, giving spectators three days of track action to enjoy.

It takes place on the TT Circuit Assen, it is 4.542km long and consists of 18 corners giving plenty of spots for on track action. The start/finish straight is 300m long giving plenty of track for a tight run down to turn 1 at the race start. With the track having the nickname “the cathedral of speed”, it is set to bring fast and filled racing.

14:00 - 14:45 - Free Practice 2

A key story line for this round is the return of Jonathon Rea with Honda, replacing injured rider Jake Dixon. During his previous visits to Assen Rea has claimed an impressive 12 wins around the circuit, making him one of the most successful here, and definitely one to watch out for.

As previously mentioned, this is the first European round of the season, which is typically where teams begin to introduce upgrades and aim to tighten the championship between manufacturers. All teams hope to improve on previous rounds and gain speed that will count.

Spectators will be watching out for lap one battles into turn one, the tight first sector builds suspense and tension for the drivers, it almost gives a need for perfection. The fast sections of the track allow for slipstreams, watch out for teammates giving these in qualifying and for drivers using it for overtakes during the races.

But, who will come out on top?
