The 2-4 May marks the opening round of the British Superbikes 2026 season. The series heads to Oulton Park and here is everything you need to know.

The teams head into this race weekend after a 2 day pre-season test here, meaning they have claimed crucial data and are hoping to be well set for heading into the weekend. Yamaha driver Bradley Ray was quickest during day 1 of Oulton Park testing and was closely followed by reigning champion Kyle Ryde, giving an early idea of a title fight for fans.
The rivalry between Ducati and Yamaha continues into this year. Both manufacturers have looked strong in testing and are wanting to come into this season and prove they’re the best and the fastest. Both manufactures have a rich history in the sport and the world of motorbikes, they have large fan bases and will be aiming to please.
There is a triple header race weekend, meaning three chances for spectators to witness the action. It also means a large amount of points are available for the riders, a chance for them to gain an early boost in the championship and mark the claim as fighting for it.

Oulton Park is a narrow, technical and undulating circuit, meaning it demands confidence and precision which also makes it difficult for riders to overtake. This puts a spotlight on qualifying. Each driver will be aiming to get as high up the field as possible to put them into the best spot for qualifying.
Watch out for the manufacturer's overall race pace. This being the opening round means a lot is still unconfirmed, but race pace will be important. Whilst being quick over a single lap will help in qualifying, having the best race pace can be impactful on strategy and how the race will plan out. So, which manufacturer do you think will come out on top in 2026?
