A fierce game between the two Group C sides saw a long list of substitutions, a foul, and a goal. Read ahead to see a quick recap of the competitive match and what it means moving forward in the tournament.

A slow start to the game had both teams pushing back and forth for shots and possession of the ball. In the 26th minute, Su Yu-hsuan scored the goal of the game for Chinese Taipei, putting them up 1-0.
The game continued, with Chinese Taipei leading shots on goal, none close enough to convert to further goals. At the 45th minute, Vietnam made a double substitution, bringing on Huỳnh Như and Trần Thị Hải Linh to revive the energy for the last few minutes of the second half. He Jia-shiuan also came on for Chinese Taipei.
Half-time arrived with no further goals, allowing both teams to take a break and reset for the second half. With Chinese Taipei being only one goal up meant that it really was anyone’s game, and both teams knew that.
The second half began, and Vietnam led in shot attempts, with 9 for the whole game, compared to Chinese Taipei’s 6. Substitutions at the 56th, 68th, 79th, and 84th minutes showed just how desperate both teams were to get more goals and change the score.
In the 86th minute, Vietnam’s Nguyễn Thị Thanh Nhã received a yellow card. She stayed on the pitch until the first minute of injury time, when she was replaced by Ngọc Minh Chuyên.
The final whistle was blown, and after no goals in the second half, the score remained 1-0 for Chinese Taipei, putting them in second in the group, under Japan, who were predicted to be the top since the draw.
Chinese Taipei is up against India on the 10th of March, and Vietnam takes on the group leaders, Japan, on the same day. The results from those games are sure to shake up the table order and send the two top teams to the quarter-finals. Be sure to check out the games and the recaps!
