GB4 Pre-Season Testing Recap - Silverstone

On March 24 and 25th, pre-season testing for the GB4 Championship took place at Silverstone, providing valuable insights to teams about drivers performance ahead of the season opener.

Day 1
The first day of pre-season testing for the GB4 Championship saw Thomas Ingram-Hill topping the time charts for the combined classification with a time of 2:01.050 putting him in front of Luke Hilton, Alex O’Grady, Fred Green and Franciszek Cegielski who made up the top five. The majority of the drivers recorded their fastest lap in the second session, however Smyth, Byrne, Davies, McDaniel, and Ruhugiro recorded their quickest times in the third session of the day.
Based on the top ten from the combined classification for day one, it seems that Fortec Motorsports and Hillspeed are the teams to look out for this season.
Day 2
The second day of pre-season testing saw four of the same drivers from the first day of testing in the top five - Ingram Hill, Hilton, Smyth, Green and O’Grady. Thomas Ingram Hill set his fastest lap of the day during the first session with a 2:01.194. Every driver recorded their fastest time during the first session of the day except for Alexandre Louza who recorded his during the third session.
During this day of pre-season testing, the teams to look out for were Douglas Motorsport,Fortec Motorsports and Elite Motorsport.
Overall, GB4 pre-season testing at Silverstone showed strong performances from Thomas Ingram Hill and consistent performance from Fortec Motorsports and Douglas Motorsport. Both days of testing consisted of thirty cars on track making it the busiest in the championship’s history. Pre-season testing also saw Scorpio Motorsport making its first pre-season appearance with Archie Davies and Romauld Bocquet.
