Your guide to one of motorsports’ most iconic events - what to expect, how to meet drivers, what the future holds and much, much more!

What is Goodwood Festival of Speed?
Goodwood Festival of Speed was established in 1993 and is an annual event which brings together past and present F1 drivers, rally car drivers, motorcyclists, team principals and many more to do the iconic hillclimb and take a lap around the circuit. Visitors to the event have the chance to get a glimpse into the world of motorsports by taking a look at iconic “vintage” vehicles, shiny new cars and, if they are lucky, will potentially be able to meet some drivers!
Goodwood also boasts a variety of shops where you can buy merchandise from Formula 1 teams, old replicas of cars, drawings, etc and features a range of food and drink stalls in case you need to make a pit stop!
This Year
This year’s event featured a cool lineup of drivers including Kush Maini, Paul Aron, David Coulthard, Oliver Bearman, Esteban Ocon and many more. However, if you do intend to meet some drivers, make sure you keep an eye out on what days they will be there as some were only in attendance on set days!
How do you meet drivers?
You can meet the drivers by just walking around or you can go to the tent where they come out - it's kind of like a little blue carpet - and, if they’re not too busy, they may stop and have a little chat with you!
Showstopping Moments
Goodwood, as an event, is a spectacle which is perfect for racing fans and car enthusiasts alike. However, the real show stopping moments are watching drivers drive up the iconic hill for a hillclimb, or getting to meet your racing idols in person.

My Highlights of the Friday
I went on Friday this year and I would definitely recommend it! Next year I am going to try and be in attendance for every day of the event!
My main highlight this year was meeting Paul Aron. He has been one of my favourite drivers for a while now and watching him drive up the hill was so cool! Another special moment was just seeing so many retired and veteran drivers as well as old vintage cars - it was such a surreal day overall!
Who People Want to See Next Year
Goodwood always has an incredible lineup of guests, from Formula 1 drivers to pop music icons, there is always a star-studded crowd of attendees.
After attending this years’ event, I asked some of The Rookie Reporters who would be in their dream Festival of Speed lineup. The team would love to see the likes of Paul Aron, Arvid Lindblad, and more F2 drivers at Goodwood in the coming years. Many would also love to see more MotoGP racers, reserve drivers and team principals such as Zak Brown make an appearance. There is also a hope that in the future, F1 teams such as Williams will continue to show their support and be in attendance at FOS, as their contributions and presence is always so amazing to see!
