With the drivers title decided, gloves will be well and truly off as we head to the penultimate oval and race of the current 2025 Indycar Season here at Milwaukee.
This race was absent from the Indycar calendar for nearly a decade but returned last year where he won interesting races providing 2 different winners making it 5 different winners in the last 5 races at Milwaukee. Also last year, we witnessed a maiden team podium for Juncos Hollinger racing! Does this foreshadow a Prema podium this Year?

Track Analysis

The Milwaukee oval of Wisconsin sits at just over a mile at 1.015 in length with 4 bends in which drivers will complete 250 laps around on raceday. These aren't ordinary corners though with banking of about 9 degrees it creates exciting racing as drivers are not flat out and will have to brake for the corners creating possible speed deltas to facilitate a passing maneuver. Therefore, this track offers many overtaking opportunities in both the corners and straightaways which serves us up a tantalising prospect of a great race. Last year we saw Daly utilising the higher line where grip was found to dance around the outwards of many drivers on his charge to the podium with a 2024 season record 51 on track passes in a single race.
Active Championship Permutations
Battle for 3rd - Dixon looking for a record breaking 15 top 3 finish in the indycar Championship sits 13pts clear of Lundgaard looking for his first top 3. Kirkwood sits 24pts behind P3 in the standings but is for sure in the hunt still.
Battle for 10th - This is all to play for heading into the last 2 races with at least 5 contenders of Malukas,Mclaughlin,Veekay,
Rasmussen and Ferrucci but I would say either Malukas and Mclaughlin will get it. The fact Malukas is ahead of 2 works of Penske machines shows the dreadful season that they have had. Power has been the standout Penske this season and last yet if rumours are true may be replaced by malukas himself which is unfair if he's still performing at the level he is.
The rookie Championship - This has been a tight battle all year with Foster's consistency versus Shwartzman moments of brilliance at the hands of his Prema. Prema in their first season has been operationally faulty at times costing big points hindering Shwartzman and Ilott but both have performed with the highlight for Shwartzman being that Indy 500 Pole in one of the greatest moments in recent Indycar History. Although Foster has an 8pt lead, I believe Shwartzman with his oval prowess as long as he isn't caught up in incidents will get enough points to overhaul Foster with 2 rounds to go
